The Van Allen Belt is burning the Earth. Admiral Nelson (Walter Pidgeon) disobeys orders and decides to blast the belt with an atomic missile launched from his submarine, US Seaview. He encounters argumentative officers, a mutinous crew and a saboteur during his mission. Also stars Robert Sterling, Peter Lorre and Barbara Eden.
