Count Dracula has been killed by Von Helsing (Edward Van Sloan) who has been accused of his murder. Dracula's daughter Marya (Gloria Holden) wants to end the family curse but the call from beyond the grave is too strong and she goes on the hunt. Jeffrey Garth (Otto Kruger) slowly realises that she is behind the attacks. Marya kidnaps Janet (Marguerite Churchill) in an attempt to force Jeffrey to help her. 
The story of each character is told throughout the reverse of the cards.
