Captain Nolan (Richard Harris) accidently kills a pregnant Killer Whale. Its highly intelligent mate begins to seek revenge and Nolan soon realises that it will reach a showdown between them. He sets out aboard The Bumpo to find the Orca after he is banished from a local fishing town. Helping him and is crew are Rachel (Charlotte Rampling) a Killer Whale expert and Jacob (Will Sampson) a native tribesman. All waves led north to the frozen waters and one must die.  
The story of each character is told throughout the reverse of the cards.
