Gold mines are being stolen in Nome, Alaska, by the crooked Alex McNamara (Randolph Scott) with no-one to stand against him. That changes when Roy Glennister (John Wayne) comes to town to see his gal Cherry Malotte (Marlene Dietrich).
Sooner or later both men with have to fight over the mines and the girl!
